Even more remote than Ko Chang, both of these small islands are a slice of tropical heaven offering castaway vibes, cerulean waters, white sandy beaches, and enough fresh-caught fish to satisfy any craving. In terms of nightlife and restaurants, Koh Mak has more going for it than Koh Kut (often spelled Ko Kood), but both options are super low-key. If you can be moved from your sandy spot on the shore or the hammock swinging in the breeze, don a snorkel mask and connect with the fishes—it’s a major draw here. December to March is the best time to visit these islands and things slow to a halt in May/June to September, with some hotels and restaurants closing during that time.
